Gene and Pat babysit for Susan's baby while she visits her injured father. A posse place Gene under arrest for aiding and abetting. While two members of the posse keep an eye out for Gene, he hides them, so he'll worm out a confession from Craig, who was the one who shot. In the end, the Elwood family is back on friendly terms.
